Barrydale / Ladismith

Hanepoot at its most delicious: twice-distilled from Muscat d’Alexandrie in traditional copper pot stills. A brilliant golden colour, delightful taste of sun-ripened raisins and spicy oak.

Oak-matured for five years, dried fruit aromas and a smooth, elegant taste with a lingering, rich aftertaste – to be savoured as you would a cognac.

Just like our five-year-old Joseph Barry Pot Still Brandy, this well-aged 10-year-old is made from St-Emillion and Colombar grapes from the Klein Karoo. The difference being that the 10-year-old early on developed an intriguingly different character in the cellar. Eventually this is the brandy that revealed itself as the one with the makings of a ten year old.

The golden amber colour makes an unforgettable first impression followed by the aromas of Christmas cake packed with cherries, citrus peel and vanilla as well as candyfloss.  The peppery aroma imparted by the wood completes the complex combination. The flavours are very soft and echo the aromas carried through from the nose to form a well-balanced taste. Then there’s the long after taste that will leave you searching for words to describe it before giving up and simply enjoying the next sip.

Na een jarenlange zoektocht naar een huiswijn, die KoRoVa’s reputatie ten goede komt, zijn we eindelijk “en met trots” geslaagd om deze wijn aan jullie voor te stellen.

Lichte strogele wijn met duidelijke groene nuance, mooi fris jong fruit van citrus, appeltjes en onrijpe steenvruchten, mooie toets van vlierbesbloemen en een subtiele kruidigheid.

Frisse aanzet in de mond die eindigt met een aangename afdronk.

Prijs/kwaliteit, een correcte, lekkere witte huiswijn.

Tasting notes Winemaker: “A refreshing wine with a grassy nose and lingering aftertaste that fills the mouth with fresh pepper. Enjoy with shellfish, creamy soups and rich fish dishes”.

KoRoVa’s huiswijn… prijs/kwaliteit is dit een voorbeeld van een lekkere Zuid Afrikaanse “easy” drinking wine !!!

Tasting notes Winemaker: “This unwooded Chardonnay with its soft vanilla and banana flavours is the ideal Chardonnay if don’t like the taste of wood but don’t want to compromise on flavour and aftertaste. Enjoy with fish, chicken or vegetables in a buttery sauce, fish carpaccio and cream cheese”.

Een plezante drinker met verfijnde toetsen van de Chenin Blanc.  Verfijnde zuren, mooie witte steenvruchten in de neus en juist dat tikkeltje méér, door zijn mineraligheid.

Tasting notes Winemaker: “A medium to full Chenin Blanc made for one reason only: to enjoy. Well-balanced acids and citrus also make the wine the perfect partner for most dishes, particularly Eastern food, seafood and cheeses that aren’t too overpowering”.

Tasting notes Winemaker: “A complex wine with lime and vanilla on the nose and in the mouth as well as an exceptional balance between fruit and acid.  Delicious with informal meals such as pastas and pizza”.

Onze rode huiswijn bij uitstek… speels, soepel en verfijnd!!  Je hoeft hier geen doorwinterde wijndrinker te zijn om van deze wijn te genieten in zijn ultieme eenvoud. Prijs/kwaliteitsverhouding scoort hier perfect!!

Tasting notes Winemaker: “This soft, light red wine with its floral flavours will be best enjoyed within four years of bottling. Serve with strong-flavoured meat dishes such as game, duck and stewed meat as well as desserts made from dark chocolate”.

Een elegante, verfijnde, perfecte doordrinker…  en bovendien schitterend bij een barbecue!
